The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has rolled out propsed new Flood Maps for Collier County. While many people in greater Collier County are upset at being placed in Flood Zones when they previously weren't, the opposite is true on Marco Island. Base Flood Elevations on the Island will be lowered for about 2/3 of the Island. This will result in lower Flood Insurance premiums for all residents that have there Base Flood Elevation lowered.
